May 6 - July 28
Monday/Friday Teambuildr
Tuesday/Thursday In Person 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Foote Field.
Program Design:
May will work on developing a physical and technical baseline for the remaining months.
Working on the fundamentals of lifting while using physically demanding loading parameters in the gym.
The Speed, agility and quickness sessions will have a similar focus. Beginning with the planting mechanics and working through force absorption. Then paying particular attention to the intricate details of sprinting.
June we will expand directly from the training phase in May.
With a general understanding of lifting fundamentals we can begin to challenge the athlete with a different way of training. The backbone of the lifting in June will be to develop strength.
The SAQ sessions will also evolve while still working on furthering the base fundamentals. It is this month that we will begin to work on running at high intensities, while implementing what has already been taught.
July is all about testing your limits. Working to reach the pinnacle of our summer training.
Having built the foundation we can now work to determine our growth. The athletes will be tested to measure their major lifts. July will be focusing on speed in the gym, preparing for the beginning of the competitive season.
The SAQ sessions will follow suit with the speed focus. It is this month that we will begin to work on skills necessary for combine testing, while continuing to work at high intensities and velocity..

The Golden Bears Selects program has been created to help in the development of elite football talent in our province. Players selected to participate in this program will train with the Golden Bears Football staff, CFL players and student athletes in our program. Participants involved will train, practice, watch film and work through the implementation of offensive and defensive systems in a team setting. This team will train, study and practice together for several weekends over the winter months in preparation for several tournaments the teams will compete in. The team will travel to an American destination in late February or early March 2025 to compete in an international tournament. This experience will give the young men involved extended time working with a Usports staff, and also allow for them to interact with Usports student athletes who also serve as coaches and mentors for the program.
The Golden Bears Football ID Camp invites all athletes coming out in 2025, 2026, and 2027 to showcase their talent and work with our coaching staff.
